Hello,
Welcome to my little
space in the virtual world. I am Jossy Varkey, from India. To be more precise I hail from a small city Cochin, which is the business capital of Kerala( a state/province of India). Kerala is a very beautiful place full of greenery, well known for its
back waters and beaches. It has got a prominent place in world tourism map. We call it (at least our tourism department!!) God's own Country, so remember I am one among God's own People !! ;-). The language
we speak in Keralam is Malayalam (have a look at
that word, its a palindrome!)
I am from a middle
class family. My father Mr. C P Varkey was doing buiness pertaining to agricultural commoditiies. Kerala is famous for coconus,
arecanuts, pepper and many other varieties of spices. My mother Thankamma is a housewife and living a peaceful life. I was
born as their elder child on 11th September 1974 (you got it!, I am a Virgo). I have a sister Jaisy, who is 2 years younger to
me. She got married to Mr.Paul and selttled in Delhi. They have got two kids, Arvin & Arsha.
I did all my schooling
in Mulanthuruthy, a small village near to Cochin city. I completed my education till 10th class from
Govt. High School, Mulanthuruthy. After completing my +2 from SH College, Thevara I joined for
B. Sc. Co-op & Banking at Kerala
Agricultural University, Trissur. This was a fully residential and professional course which covered a lot
of agricultural economics and management. I was in hostel for those 5 years and our hostel life was literally incredible there
.That was the period I enjoyed a lot, I didn't have to put much hard work (my roommates will swear that I never worked hard
in my college life!). I was able to complete the course with flying colors.
Even though I was
very much interested in higher studies, my financial backgrounds were not strong enough to move further. I decided to work
for life. Immediately after completing my training and project work of graduation, I got an opportunity from IMS Health Inc.
the world leaders in pharmaceutical market research. I joined in Cochin as a Field Research Officer and later moved to Chennai. I worked in the company for more than
5 years and it was a fantastic exposure for me as my first job. I traveled all the parts of South India as a part of my job, even the small towns like Chidambaram, Pondicherry, Tanjavur, Trichy etc.. those were temple towns with high pilgrimage
and tourist importance. I really enjoyed moving different places. IMS was an equal opportunity employer and I got 150 shares,
which was listed in NYSE. When I redeemed it, at that time it was fairly good amount and I was able to construct a small house
in home town. I quit IMS in 2003 as I want to come back to my native place and settled down with my parents.
After that I joined
Milma Foods Ltd., Cochin as Sales Consultant. Primarily it was a market development
job, for the new products of Milma Dairy which produces milk based products like ice creams, flavored milk, butter, ghee etc.
I was there for 6 months only after which I joined in Connect Plus (P) Ltd., and HR consultancy specialized in overseas recruitments.
And presently I am working as Asst. Manager –Recruitments in our Cochin office.
About my interests...Day
dreaming comes first in the list (should be first
one for all lazy chaps like me ).I like
reading, chatting, I like to meet new people from around the globe, listening to music , watching movies, sports(mainly as a spectator! ). etc. I have got a little interest in almost everything, may be because I'm a Gemini.
That's
all about me, hope you will like my site. Thank you very much for visiting my web site. Please feel free to contact me at
jossyvarkey@yahoo.com. Looking forward for your comments and feedbacks.
Warm Regards, Jossy

What a job!
My present job as recruiter is really thrilling.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed
him for a lifetime."
(Helping others to find a job is realy interesting and it gives happiness to me.)
